Terms of Use

The short version: use the ledger to plan a trip, verify the rules yourself, and do not treat anything here as legal or safety advice.

Last updated: 2026-09-18

Acceptance

By using lilacs.pro you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

What this site is

Riffle publishes informational guides to rivers, hatches, fly patterns, licences and access. The content is a planning aid written by anglers for anglers. It is not a permit, a booking, a legal opinion, or a substitute for the regulations published by the authority that actually manages a fishery.

Fishing regulations change

Season dates, quotas, bag limits, bait bans, hook restrictions and access arrangements change, sometimes at short notice and sometimes mid-season. Every rule described on this site should be treated as indicative. Confirm the current position with the issuing association, club or government agency before you travel, and if this site and the authority disagree, the authority is right.

Access and private water

Many of the rivers described here are wholly or partly private, leased to clubs or lodges, or subject to a permit system. A description of an access point on this site is not permission to fish there. Fishing without a valid permit is a trespass and may be a criminal offence, and it is the fastest way to get angling access closed for everyone.

Safety and your own judgement

Wading, boats, fast water, cold water, tides, wind, altitude, weather and remote terrain are all genuinely dangerous. Nothing on this site is safety advice. You are responsible for your own judgement, your own equipment, your own fitness, and the decisions you make on the water. If a river looks too high, it is too high.

No warranty

The site is provided 'as is'. We try to keep it accurate and we correct errors when they are reported, but we make no warranty that any page is complete, current or error-free, and we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on it.

Intellectual property

The text, the generated SVG plates, the hatch charts and the site design are the property of Riffle and may not be reproduced commercially without permission. Short quotations with a link back to the source page are welcome.

Advertising

The site displays advertising, which is how it is paid for. Advertising does not influence which rivers are covered or what the guides say; no advertiser has any input into the editorial content, and rivers cannot pay to be included.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated; the date at the top of the page will change when they are. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
